What To Consider In Choosing Horse Barn Kits
General December 2nd, 2009Those planning to build a horse barn should take a look at the easiest way to do it. Why go through the trouble of getting horse barn plans, horse barn designs, horse barn builders, horse barn this and horse barn that, when one can just take the quickest method of doing it? It will all depend on the horse owner and builder on which type of kit to use.
Several points to consider in choosing your kit or building that horse barn:
- Bear in mind that the horse should have enough space, ventilation and lighting. Safety is also a key.
- Barn position basics: near the source of electricity and water. Do factor in that the barn doors should be positioned approximately 45 degrees from the prevailing winds to ensure good air ventilation.
- Barn layout basics: the barn is also a work area for you, the horse owner. So do factor that in when building the barn. Have the layout that has most convenient access for you when getting supplies and equipment for the horses.
- Barn size basics and horse barn kit basics: the horse will need about 12 x 12 to 14 x 14 of space. Do have that in mind. Think one stall per horse. If you can afford the biggest kit, please buy it. The horse will appreciate it.
- Building with the kit: It is a kit. Follow instructions to the letter. If you have other modifications in mind, think of the welfare of the horse first, then plan, build and hope for the best.
